Wildcard Saturday Games... What a treat t o have six playoff games in the next three days... pac loves football. And here are her tidbits for Saturday's games... Las Vegas @ Cincinnati One of the problems in Wild Card Weekend is underestimating your opponent. Neither of these teams have recent playoff experience. pac agrees Las Vegas isn't a great team. But they are scrappy. With enough players on both sides of the ball t o disrupt Cincinnati. Waller's return has come at a perfect time as he and Renfrow can stretch the field and make big plays. The best way t o cool off a QB is by running the ball. Jacobs needs a big day for Vegas t o have a chance. Cincinnati has better weapons with Burrows, Mixon, Chase and Higgins playing stellar football in weeks 16 & 17. Burrow did sit week 18. Which could be a good or bad thing. Can Las Vegas's defense stop Burrow if he starts slinging the ball or gets a lead? pac thinks Vegas will play hard in this matchup, they might even get a lead. As Cincy tends t o start slow. Cincy is favored by 6 in a half points as of this writing. And is 1-8 all time in the wild card round... NE @ Buffalo Buffalo is on a four game winning streak. With QB Allen playing at a high level. The team has trended towards a more balanced attack, with over 100 yards rushing in the run game during those four wins... The Bills do have the experience. From last years run t o the AFC title game. Will they keep that balance though? Buffalo just beat the Patriots in a week 16 rematch. After NE won the first meeting earlier in the year. Remember ... When M. Jones only threw the ball 3 times the whole game! No one is giving NE much of a chance. Mosty because of a rookie QB and a patched up running game. But don't forget about Belichick. Who will throw some kind of wrinkle in the equation... Buffalo is favored by 4 and a half points... Weather will also play a part in this game. With the temperature hovering around 3 degrees at kickoff. The winds could also increase as the game goes on. Both teams should run the ball. As the ball becomes so hard to catch in that kind of cold... Here's to a good day of football... ~ Physical strength is measured by what we carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear. ~ |

Gee I wonder what pac will be doing today? Only question I believe is, at home with or without friends, local sports pub, or at a friend's small or large crowd? Wish your team/s good luck. When I do watch I just hope to see a good game.

Yes, a nice 3 days ahead. Today I have Raiders Bengals over 48 1/2 and Buff -5 NE. Playoffs rock. Anything could happen the way this year has played out. Nothing would surprise me.

Definitely the NE vs Buf game will bring back memories of the Green Bay Dallas freezer years ago. What did they nickname it, the Ice bowl. This is unusually cold for Buffalo. We only get this cold a few times a year. Just had to happen when the NFL is still playing football. I'm reminded of a time long ago when I was inspecting iron workers laying rebar (not sexual pun intended) and it was in the low teens. One iron worker was handling the rebars with no gloves. I finally asked what the F he was thinking. My hand would have stuck to the bars if I had touched them. He replied in a thick Quebec accent that this was not cold, -40 F was cold. His hands were toasty warm when I shook them. The issue isn't the cold it is having to go from cold to hot to cold that is so difficult.

As Michael Vick would say, I don't have a dog in this fight. That said, I'll be rooting for the two road underdogs in both cases. History shows that, unless there is an uneven match (like Pittsburgh/KC), on wildcard weekend, road dogs cover if not win outright. Enjoy.

After hearing about the Cincy game on the news this morning and that the Bengals had not won a playoff game for 31 years, I actually tuned in towards the end. Now I know what the hoopla will be about tomorrow on the morning news.
